Is Facebook Ad Grants For Nonprofits Really Finally Happening?

Big news hit the nonprofit marketing wire this week as Facebook is officially testing out a new advertising credit program for nonprofits. It seems they are finally following in the footsteps of Google’s Ad Grant Program for Nonprofits, a program in which most 501c3’s can qualify for 10,000 in free advertising.

How To Apply For Facebook Advertising Grant Ad Credits

The application is by invite only. Fortunately one of our nonprofit partners Wounded Warrior Homes, has shared their invite link with us.

Ad Credit Application Steps

Step 1: Become the admin of your organization’s Facebook Page.

Step 2: Create a Facebook Advertising account and connect your method of payment (this will not be charged for this grant)

Step 3: Go to the invitation link and click the “Connect with Facebook” button to approve the ActionSprout platform. Make sure you’re logged in to the right FB account.

Step 4: Select the correct Facebook Page and the Advertising account you set up. This needs to be all connected with one account.

Step 5: Enter your nonprofit’s EIN number and hit enter.

Step 6: You’re almost done. You will be given an invite link to share which seems to be directly related to how much you are eligible to receive from $600 – $1,500. Decisions will be made as early as Nov 15th, 2015.

Summary

Facebook Ad Grants has the potential to be a true game-changer. We have had tremendous results for our nonprofit clients leveraging Google Ad Grants and if Facebook steps up to the plate for the nonprofit community the early-adopters no doubt will likely have a strong leg up.

Together, let’s show Facebook that the nonprofit community can use Facebook Ad Credits to drive tremendous sustainable change in the world.

Warning: It does appear that if your org spends more than the credit limit you will be charged, so be sure your Facebook ad management team setups the account well and with spending budget caps.

Is this still possible? Because the link is dead, also the one directing to the FAQ. Id be keen to find out since there does not seem to be information about it elsewhere

Hi Luuk, the Facebook grant for nonprofits was a test from a few years ago and is not a program that Facebook currently offers.
