How to Create Content for Your Nonprofit During Quarantine

2 min to read ✭ In this post, you’ll learn types of content you can create during quarantine and how to get creative with your current circumstances.

How do we create content for our nonprofit during quarantine? These are crazy times, but what we all know is that screen time has skyrocketed. You look at the data—people are on their phone, they’re watching YouTube, they’re literally glued to their devices right now because we don’t have anything better to do.

Your nonprofit can be that beacon of hope. People want hope right now. You have to create content but how do we do that when we can’t go out? You just have to be creative and have fun with it. If you’re shooting a video for your audience and you’re just talking into your iPhone with your cats in the background, that’s okay. We’re all in this together and if anything, be real and authentic. Post more and get more content out, and have your team do the same and celebrate the wins. We all need wins. We all want hope. And that’s what nonprofits can provide. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

1. Record Your Zoom Meetings

This one is really easy, simply press record or just take a screenshot! People love to see the faces behind an organization, so this is a great opportunity to highlight your team.

2. Host a Webinar

We’ve started hosting more webinars recently and we’re also seeing really high show up rates for many of our partners that are taking that leap. Choose a topic that means something to your nonprofit, then market it to your own email list and on social media. People are really looking to learn right now, so provide value on what you know best.

3. Plan Virtual Activities

Think about how you can help. We work with a mental health organization and a lot of what they do had to be paused. They had someone following them on Instagram that’s a yoga instructor and they reached out to her. She was happy to run a quarantine yoga session for their audience. That’s providing value. The saying is true that you’ll never know unless you ask. You’d be surprised what your followers will do for you if you just send a simple message. Group activities like this can really help bring people together and provide connection in these times.
