2 min read ✭  In this post, we’re discussing Giving Tuesday 2018 growth metrics and key takeaways! Tune in to see how much nonprofit fundraising scaled up from 2017 to 2018.

As predicted, nonprofits did an excellent job and surpassed last year’s Giving Tuesday numbers by a landslide. From $274M in 2017 to $380M raised in 2018, the nonprofit sector saw a huge win with a 39% overall growth for the sector. There were 3.6 million gifts with the average gift size coming out to about $105.55. That is incredible!

Some of the bigger donation platforms are reporting an overall fifty percent Giving Tuesday growth. Even the Facebook fundraiser platform went from 45M to 152M from the first year to launching the platform to their second year. That’s a 270% growth Facebook is seeing in one year.

If anything is clear, it’s that Giving Tuesday is not going anywhere. It will only continue to grow in the coming years, and we are excited to see how much it scales from one year to the next. That being said, there is all the more reason why Giving Tuesday should be a big part of your year-end strategy.
