A Brief Overview of the Two-Day Event

The Community Boost team had the honor of sponsoring and attending the Annual Nonprofit Governance Symposium at USD. With the world’s concerns not taking any breaks, there was a lot to discuss, and no time to waste.

Joined by organizations from San Diego and beyond, our team had a blast connecting with countless inspiring individuals, listening to keynote speakers such as Chet Hewitt (President & CEO of the Sierra Health Foundation), and even hearing from our very own CEO Cameron Ripley on Marketing Where it Counts.

As the Media Sponsor for this year’s event, we produced a video to recap this year’s event. But before we take a look at that, let’s refresh ourselves on the purpose of the symposium;

“The purpose of the Annual Governance Symposium is to highlight current best practices, lessons learned from the field, and trends in effective nonprofit and philanthropic board leadership, as well as board recruitment and retention. The premise is that governing well is essential for strong nonprofits working efficiently and effectively to address critical needs in our communities.  – The Nonprofit Institute

At the end of the day, governing boards are crucial to the success of an organization, and it is amazing events like these that allow organizations to continue to challenge their boards and learn how to better work alongside them to bring solutions to the world’s problems.

Thank you again to USD and the Nonprofit Institute for putting on this amazing event every year – we cannot wait to attend next year!
