Why Company Culture is So Important

2 min to read ✭ In this post, we will recap our third annual Boostie Awards and why they are so important for our company culture.

We Celebrate Life

One of our core values here at Community Boost is “We Celebrate Life” and we certainly had a lot to celebrate at our 3rd Annual Boostie Awards. The Boosties is inspired by Michael Scott’s The Dundies on The Office. The event itself has become a big part of Community Boost’s culture and something our entire team looks forward to each year.

The Boosties is designed for the Community Boost team to kick back, laugh and have a blast spending time with the Community Boost family, while also taking time to celebrate our growth and most importantly, reflect on the fact that we are truly blessed to be able to earn a living by helping great nonprofit causes scale impact every single day.

While we present ridiculous awards to the entire team like, “Best Beard,” “Prank Sinatra” and “Tallest in the Office,” we also use the annual event to celebrate major milestones as an organization. These types of events are extremely important because as a fast-moving, ambitious company, we set a lot of quarterly OKRs that often are only partially achieved, but then when you zoom out for the year it’s pretty amazing to reflect on the bigger picture and major wins. Just this past year, we celebrated big wins. Since the last Boosties alone the Community Boost team went from 11 team members to 24 and in a year’s time we went from recently meeting the Google Ad Grants team to sharing major nonprofit conference stages in Boston and New York with the Ad Grants team.

But most importantly, the Boosties is designed to celebrate our people and our team while having a blast. We are only as good as the people that choose to come to work at Community Boost every day and support our mission to empower social ventures changing the world. These types of events take time, planning, prep and resources, but are truly priceless to Community Boost’s culture and success to date.
