Working to Raise Awareness of the Risk of Esophageal Cancer
ECAN works to raise awareness of the risk of Esophageal Cancer posed by persistent heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (known as GERD). They launched the first Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month effort in 2009 & it has been recognized nationwide ever since!
Increase Year-Over-Year Registrations and Donations to Their Annual 5k
ECAN’s goal was to drive registrations to their 2nd annual virtual 5K to end esophageal cancer using Facebook Ads.

The Solution

Facebook Ads Awareness Campaign
We built up warm socially engaged/remarketing audiences from past events using Facebook ads targeting. By increasing our spend and adjusting audience targeting, we were able to decrease the overall cost per result by about $25. We built on 2020’s most successful ads to create strong year over year results and event branding which resulted in an 80% increase in registrations.

Facebook Ads Gratitude Campaign
Because of the relationships and support ECAN recieved from their previous 5k, we thought we could increase engagement by warming past supporters with gratitude. After the 5k, we used Facebook ads to run a gratitude campaign which would aim to increase repeat participation for next year.
